Spouses and adult dependents (ages 18 and up) will have the opportunity to learn about important topics, including U.S. healthcare, emergency procedures, severe weather, and school systems. The orientation is a fun and informative way to meet fellow spouses and make new friends. Infant childcare (12 months and under) will be provided. Session 1: 16-17 June 2020 Session 2: tentative dates 18-19 August 2020 Sign up for one or both sessions here! Family Day: 18 June 2020 The International Officer School will host an international family information fair with base, local community, and English as a Second Language (ESL) program representatives. The entire program culminates in a welcome lunch, hosted by the Maxwell Air Force Base chapels. All ages welcome. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What about childcare for children over age 1? Officers will be given administrative time during the spouses' orientation in order to take care of their children. What topics are covered at the family orientation? Some of the topics that will be covered are medicines and medical emergencies, severe weather warnings and preparation, driving safety, and summer and family activities. What time is the family orientation program? The program will start at 9:00 a.m. each day and will end at 12:00 p.m. The English-Language Course The International Officer School, in conjunction with the International Family Support Organization (IFSO), hosts a 12-week beginner's English course.
