Commander speaks at Women’s Equality Day panel

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Col. Regina “Torch” Sabric, 419th Fighter Wing commander, shared stories from her life and career at the Women’s Equality Day panel discussion here Aug. 26.

The panel aimed to raise awareness on how women in the armed forces, public service, and government have served the nation by working to clear barriers, enforce laws, and implement new ideas. This year’s event celebrated the 99th anniversary passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution that guaranteed women the right to vote.

Other speakers included Sandra Fitzgerald, 309th Aircraft Maintenance Wing director; Jarie Muir, Air Force Nuke Weapons Center ICBM Systems Directorate; Col. Michelle Brown, 75th Aerospace Medicine Squadron commander; Ann Millner, state senator in Utah’s 18th District.

Sabric took command of the 419th FW in April 2018, becoming the wing’s first female commander and the first female F-35 pilot in the Air Force Reserve.
